California in motion

The August 11 state refresh identified twenty verified changes after the prior August 3 cutoff. The movement is concentrated in floor action and appropriations review, not a wave of newly introduced bills.

State policy update

One measure reaches the Governor as others move through the late-session funnel.

AB 1651 was enrolled and presented to the Governor on August 10. AB 2025 advanced to third reading on August 6. AB 2469 and AB 2619 moved to the appropriations suspense file on August 10. A group of Senate measures entered suspense on August 5, while SB 1168 was ordered to the consent calendar on August 6.

Separate executive action

On August 10, the Governor's office announced an AI cyber-defense program intended to protect California's critical infrastructure. This is a government program, not a new regulation. It may still matter to vendors, public agencies, and critical-infrastructure operators because it signals operational adoption and procurement activity.
